The IKS-project (Integration Kognitiver Systeme / integration of cognitive systems) started in 1996 at the computer science department of the University of Applied Sciences Hamburg. Since then the focus moved more and more towards aspects of cognitive robotics. As a part of the project a robot building lab for teaching purposes was installed. In addition hardware aspects were added to the IKS project. Today IKS is a robotics laboratory of the computer scienes department.
